On Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, the Southwestern men's cross country team traveled to Luther College in Decorah for the Luther JV Cup. Competing over the four-mile distance against Iowa Central Community College (ranked #1 in the NJCAA), Augustana College (ranked #25 in NCAA Division III), and Luther College, the Spartans placed fourth with a score of 113 points.
Sophomore Nate Hoyt (Shenandoah) led the team with a 20th place finish. Freshmen Jalen Two Leggins (Hardin, MT) placed 35th, followed by Jacob Bolinger (Clearfield) at 39th, Kevin Dietrich (Port Neches, TX) at 43rd , and Chance Webster (Panora) at 52nd. These individuals were the scorers for the Spartans as well.
