Breheny, who will graduate from Nodaway Valley High School in May 2017, has had a stellar high school cross country career being a four-time state qualifier.  At state, he placed in the 1A championship as follows:  2014, seventh place; 2015, fourth place; and 2016, third place.  He was named to the 1A All-State Cross Country Team three years during high school, was the Pride of Iowa Conference champion three years, and was conference runner-up one year.  Breheny and his Nodaway Valley team finished as the 1A team champions in 2015 and 2016.

In addition to his athletic honors, Breheny was named to the National Honor Society and was an academic letter winner.

He is the son of John and Elizabeth Breheny of Greenfield.
