Paige Shwaluk, sophomore from Manitoba, Canada, wins the Ron "Fox" Clinton Female Athlete of the Year award for the Southwestern athletic department. Shwaluk, who missed most of her freshman campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, looks to finish out a great career for the Spartan softball program and has the potential to reset many school records.

Throughout the powerful Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, Shwaluk ranks ninth in batting average, ninth in on-base percentage, sixth in runs, sixth in hits, third in doubles, and second in triples. Head coach, Nick Weinmeister, had this to say on Shwaluk: "The comfort she gives me as a coach to not have to worry about who will play an important position like shortstop every day and who should hit leadoff has been immense over the last two years. Without Covid, she would have had a majority of the offensive school records that a player can hold as a Spartan. She has done all of this while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her time here and has been enrolled in the toughest classes Southwestern has to offer."

Congratulations to Paige Shwaluk on the honor!
