Women's Outdoor Track & Field Wins National Academic Team of the Year

Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA has announced the 2021-22 Academic Teams of the Year.  NJCAA student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom as 1,061 teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA or better.

29 programs from across the country earned NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors after achieving the highest GPA in their respective sport throughout the academic year.

For the eleventh consecutive year, Daytona State (FL) recorded the highest GPA amongst all NJCAA Baseball programs with a 3.78 cumulative GPA.  This marks the 15th time in the last 16 seasons that the Falcons have earned the honor.  Eight other programs emerged as repeat winners from the 2020-21 academic year: Monroe (NY) men's cross country, Monroe (NY) men's indoor track & field, Oxford Emory (GA) men's soccer, Southwestern Oregon men's swimming & diving, Southwestern Oregon women's swimming & diving, Trinidad State (CO) beach volleyball, Barton (KS) volleyball, Pratt (KS) wrestling.     

The Barton (KS) volleyball team earned the highest overall GPA in the NJCAA for the second consecutive year with a 3.95 mark.  Barton and Monroe (NY) tied to earn an NJCAA-best three Academic Team of the Year recipients.  Five other NJCAA member colleges earned multiple Academic Team of the Year awards including Mineral Area (MO), Northwest Mississippi, Odessa (TX), Oxford Emory (GA), and Southwestern Oregon.
