Mount Ayr's Riley Jones to dance for Spartans

Creston, IA—Mount Ayr High School’s Riley Jones made it official last week, she will compete with the Spartan dance team during their 2023-24 season.

Jones, who will graduate high school in May 2023, has competed with the Mount Ayr High School drill team earning numerous honors including Division 1 ratings for multiple state routines performed, as well as a Division 1 rating at the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association (ISDTA) solo competition. In addition, while dancing for Ryann’s Dance Academy in Mount Ayr, she earned a platinum rating for a clogging duet and her teams have achieved platinum-rated group routines.

“Riley is a very technical and skilled dancer with an immense dance background,” Paige Busch, Southwestern head dance coach, said. “She will be a wonderful addition to our team.”

Jones is the daughter of Spence and Rebecca Jones of Mount Ayr.
