Southwestern Spartans Dance Team Dazzles at Winterset Covered Bridge Festival

The Southwestern Spartans Dance Team, under the guidance of Coach Paige Russo, took to the Winterset Covered Bridge Festival on October 15, 2023. In their first performance of the season, the Spartans showcased their talent and commitment to excellence.

The team left a lasting impression as they presented a captivating display of dance, featuring two camp routines learned at the beginning of August, and two state/nationals' routines that promise an exciting season ahead.

Coach Paige Russo expressed her delight in performing for the community, where some team members grew up. She stated, "Being able to perform in front of the community that some of the current members grew up in has always been fun and important to us. We are on the countdown for our competitions to start, and the small-town performances allow the team to work out any nerves."

Chloe Marlin, one of the team members, shared her thoughts on the performance, saying, "It was a good first performance to debut the new team and new routines for the season."

With this strong start, the Southwestern Spartans Dance Team is now eagerly looking ahead to a November filled with exciting performances and competitions:

  • November 4th: Ella & Maddie Showcase at 9:00 AM
  • November 11th: The Dance Challenge at Dallas Center-Grimes
  • November 15th: Basketball Game
  • November 18th: Dance Team Union Regional at Newton High School
  • November 29th: Basketball Game

The Southwestern Spartans Dance Team is geared up for an impressive season ahead, promising more outstanding performances and unforgettable moments.
