Twin Cedars Golfer Headed to SWCC

Doug North, Southwestern Community College head golf coach, recently signed Twin Cedars High School golfer Cam Arkema to the Spartan team for the 2017-18 season.

Arkema, who will graduate from Twin Cedars in May, received first team all-conference honors for golf and had a 79.8 scoring average his junior year. He also excelled in basketball, where he was a first-team all-conference selection for three years.

North said he is excited to have him join the Spartans following what he hopes will be a breakout senior golf season for Arkema.

"Cam is the type of student-athlete who exemplifies the culture of my program," North explained. "I have no doubt he will be a leader and get involved with all aspects of campus. He picked up golf late, so I'm excited to see him really figure it out and take that next step forward."

North said Arkema will be a highlight in what he already considers an outstanding freshmen class headed to SWCC this fall.
