Doug North, Southwestern Community College head golf coach, has landed another area golfer, Lenox High School's Katelyn Belding, for his 2018-19 golf team.

Belding, who will be a May 2018 Lenox High School graduate, excelled in golf, basketball, and volleyball during high school. She was named all-conference for her volleyball play and received the all-conference basketball school spirit award. In addition, Belding has received academic honors including being selected as a member of the National Honor Society, participating in the all-conference quiz brain bowl team, and receiving the Junior Citizenship Award. She was named all-academic for basketball and volleyball as well.

North said Belding is the epitome of a student-athlete.

"Katelyn will represent Southwestern golf in the highest manner," North stated. "She is a multi-sport athlete who, due to an elite GPA, earned all-conference and all-academic accolades, all while assisting tremendously on the family farm."

North feels Belding will fit the Spartan mold perfectly with her hard work ethic and commitment to the task at-hand.

"I am most excited about Katelyn's potential to be a leader on the course and in the classroom," North concluded.

Belding is the daughter of Rod and Jo Belding of Sharpsburg.
