Spartans Take Care of Business At Home

After starting on the road, the Southwestern men's basketball program got a chance to showcase their talent on their home floor. The Spartans earned a 71-57 victory over Mount Mercy University's JV team. In a game that was very statistically-matched, Southwestern used a +9 turnover margin to secure the victory.

Head Coach Reggie Kindle has this to say on the evening, "We made improvements from Tuesday's game (against Kansas City Kansas CC). We played great team defense & made them make some tough shots. As a team we still have to continue to grow and take care of the basketball. The guys did a good job executing our stuff in the half court. Back to work we go Monday to prepare for a tough Johnson County team."

Southwestern was again paced by Carson Busch and his 21 points, leading all scorers on the evening. He also added in 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Other Spartan scorers on the night were Duke Carey with 14, Devin Tomlinson with 11, Brance Baker with 9, Khayden Hooks with 5, Qushawn Wells with 3, Teon Thomas with 2, and Collin Sager with 2.

The Spartans will play multiple games on the road before returning to their home court for conference play on Friday, December 3.
