The Spartan golf team opened their season with a quick trip to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the Ottawa University Spring Invitational. Southwestern was in fourth place after day one and finished the tournament in fourth place, failing to climb the leaderboard on day two.

The Spartans were led by Freshman, Ryan Jarvis and his tied-for-sixth place finish. This is Jarvis' first tournament as a Spartan as the Covid-19 pandemic did not allow him to arrive for fall semester. "This was Ryan's first tournament, and his first ever time playing in this wind," says Coach North. "You could shave a few strokes off each day caused by nerves and then a few adjusting to the wind as well. He will be a contender in our region."
