The 2023 Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Region teams were recognized on Wednesday -- with the Region 11 Championships determining the All-Region performers this season. Coaches then voted on the special awards given to the ICCAC's Track Athlete, Field Athlete and Coach of the Year.

The Iowa Western Reivers won the Men's Outdoor Track and Field Region 11 Championships for a second year in a row. The Reivers won 10 events to remain the champions. Runners-up Iowa Central won nine events and Indian Hills won three. All three teams shared the postseason's special awards.

Iowa Western 's David Burnett managed to retain the championship title in his first year at Iowa Western and earned the Coach of the Year honor. As noted, Burnett's team competed for 10 titles of the 22 available. Twenty-seven Reiver All-Region performances were covered of the 66 available placements across First, Second and Honorable Mention -- awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

The Track Athlete of the Year was Indian Hills' Rivaldo Marshall. After some great performances last season -- Marshall set a Region 11 Championship record this year in the 800 Meter with a time of 1:47.35 as he repeated as champion this season. That time was the second-fastest time in an NJCAA 800 Meter event this season.

The Warriors also won the 4x400 Meter Relay with Marshall as the anchor. That group finished the Region 11 Championships with a time of 3:06.30.

Taking the ICCAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year was Iowa Central's Roman Kuleshov. This follows an impressive performance at the Region 11 Championship where he took first in both Long Jump and Triple Jump (15.15 meters). Kuleshov finished the season with the fourth-longest mark in the Long Jump event in the NJCAA, posting a 7.49 meter leap.

Iowa Western sprinter Tahj Hamm led the way winning the 200 meter and 400 Meter. The sophomore set a PR in both events -- 20.77 in the 200 and 46.25 in the 400.

Multiple Iowa Western athletes set championship meet records as well. Jayden Brown won the 400 Meter Hurdles in 51 seconds. Odayne Harris took the Javelin with a dart of 60.09 meters and Brandon Gayle tossed the shot put 17.24 meters, breaking Iowa Central's Brian Williams mark from 2016.
