Creston, IA—Southwestern Community College Head Coach Danny Jensen has inked his first student-athlete for Spartan softball's fall 2024 recruiting class—Kamarin Simmons, a versatile catcher/outfielder, hailing from Davey, Nebraska.

Simmons, who will graduate from Raymond Central High School in May 2024, is a two-time softball player of the year, 13-time player of the game, and four-year letter winner for her high school team. She has been named second team all-conference and second team all-area. In addition to her softball honors, she was a 2022 state cheer runner-up.

According to Jensen, Simmons will be an excellent addition to the Spartan team next year.

"Kamarin is a power, left-handed lead-off hitter with exceptional speed," stated Jensen. "She can really cover the ground in the outfield and is a solid defensive catcher with a very quick release. Kamarin will be a quiet leader with a positive personality. She loves the game."

She is the daughter of Matt and Shannon Simmons of Davey, Nebraska.
