Southwestern Head Softball Coach Danny Jensen has coached Iowa softball for more than 40 years. Coming into his position at the helm of the Spartans in August 2021, Jensen had an overall coaching record of 828-462.

He was selected district coach of the year eight times and inducted in the Iowa Softball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2015. He served on the all-district and all-state selection committees for several years. Murray, the 20th smallest school in Iowa, developed more than 100 all-state players during Jensen’s reign, and has always played up, battling and many times winning annually against 2A, 3A, and 4A schools.

Prior to Southwestern, Jensen and Assistant Coach Tessa Otto coached together for eight years.
