Ava Kovarna, a 2A all-state catcher at MVAOCOU High School, signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Spartans of Southwestern Community College during the 2025 softball season.

Spartan softball vs. Central Community College - Columbus will now be played on Sunday, April 27, at 1 and 3 p.m., in place of the games vs. Marshalltown CC, and the Sophomore Day presentation will take place between the games.
