Track & Field Ends 2016 Season at NJCAA Outdoor Nationals

The Southwestern track & field team sent three student-athletes to Levelland, TX this past week to compete at the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships hosted by South Plains College.

For the men, Freshman Tyrell Paul (Ajax, ON, Canada) placed twentieth in the 400m dash with a time of 49.89 seconds.  Paul also competed in the 200m dash, where he was 23rd in a time of 22.40 seconds.  Sophomore Seth Starks (Springfield, NE) was unable to follow up on his indoor All-American performance, as he recorded a no-height in the high jump.  Freshman Sisillia Seavula (Fiji) competed in the 100m dash, where she ran a 12.71 for 31st place.

"As a student-athlete, the goal is to be able to represent your college at the culminating event.  Seth, Tyrell, and Sisillia competed their hearts out, and learned what it takes to be successful at the NJCAA level," remarked Coach Ekel.

The NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships conclude the 2016 season for the Spartans.
