Spartans Name Interim Track and Field Coach

Creston, IA— Southwestern Community College announced today Jordan Strofaci, formerly the assistant track and field coach for the Spartans, has been named interim head track and field coach for the upcoming season.  Nick Ekel, head coach of Southwestern Community College's track and field program since 2015, has accepted a position at Graceland University in Lamoni and will be leaving Southwestern next week.

Prior to coming to Southwestern in 2016, Strofaci was employed as a personal trainer for Rise n' Fly Sports and an assistant track and field/cross country coach for Lakeside High School, both in Lake Elsinore, CA.  He is the co-founder and director of marketing for Elite Athlete Products Incorporated, in San Diego.

Strofaci, originally from Palmdale, CA, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science with a minor in strength and conditioning/fitness management at Northwestern College in Orange City, in December 2015.  As a member of the track and field team at Northwestern, Strofaci was a two-time NAIA All-American (4x100m relay and decathlon).
