Southwestern Community College Head Track and Field Coach Trey Bruton recently announced the signing of five student-athletes to the Spartans' 2018-19 track program.

The five signees include Cody Buchmann, of Atlantic; Harold Sundy, of Grand Rapids, MN; Troy Lewis, of Beloit, MN; Nasim McQueen, of Randallstown, MD; and Brently Brown, of West Des Moines.

Lewis competes in throwing events, while Buchmann, Sundy, and McQueen will be sprinters for the Spartans. Brown is a sprinter/mid-distance athlete and will be a member of the women’s cross country team as well.

Bruton said it is great to have the addition of these fine young men and women to the Spartan team.

"Each student-athlete has had his or her own success in the sport and will continue to develop here at SWCC this year," Bruton remarked. "They are helping build a strong foundation for our program and I am excited to think each and every one of them will find some success here.”
