The Spartan women traveled to Iowa Falls on Jan. 20, looking to capture their first conference win, but instead came home with a tough road loss moving them to 0-2 in ICCAC play.

The first half was a close contest, but at the end of the half Ellsworth held a narrow lead, 24-27, over the Spartans. 

The Spartans have continued to struggle on offense and that was a key factor in the loss during the second half of play.

Spartan Head Coach Addae Houston said his players did stay on task during a tough battle.

"Despite the loss we did execute our game plan," said Houston. "One thing you can't control is shots going in the basket, and the bottom line is, we were not able to hit the open shots."

T'Keyah Stapleton led the way for the Spartans with 18 points and Vanessa Romo added 12 points.
