Southwestern Head Women's Basketball Coach Bryan Austin received notice this week sophomore guard/forward Alyssa Morris of Odessa, Missouri, has been named one of 10 honorees for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Team.

Morris has had an outstanding career at Southwestern, earning First Team All-Conference, two-time ICCAC Player of the Week, NJCAA National Player of the Week, and now WBCA All-American. 

According to the WBCA website, Jashanti Simmons of Georgia Highlands College is the 2022 WBCA Two-Year College Player of the Year and headlines the 2022 WBCA Two-Year College Coaches’ All-America team. The WBCA presents the Player of the Year award annually to the top player in five of the six WBCA membership divisions (NCAA Divisions II, and III, NAIA, two-year college and high school). The Player of the Year and the 10-member Coaches’ All-America team in each division are selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in that division. The Wade Trophy is presented to the best player in NCAA Division I.

Morris will graduate from Southwestern in May 2022 with an Associate of Arts degree, as well as an Associate of Science degree.
