Southwestern Spartans Women’s Basketball Players Recognized by ICCAC

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) is proud to announce that two of its women's basketball players, Cassidy Nelson and Brooklyn Hadl, have been recognized by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) for their outstanding performances during the 2023-24 season.

Cassidy Nelson, a redshirt sophomore guard from Lenox, IA, has been named to the Third Team All-Region. Nelson has been a key contributor to the Spartans' success on the court, showcasing her skills and determination in every game. Throughout the season, Nelson has averaged an impressive 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, demonstrating her ability to make an impact on both ends of the court. With a three-point shooting percentage of 31.0% and a free throw percentage of 73.2%, Nelson has consistently delivered when her team needed it most. Her tenacity, leadership, and dedication to excellence have been instrumental in the Spartans' achievements this season.

Brooklyn Hadl, a freshman forward from Ottawa, KS, has also received recognition for her outstanding performance on the court. Hadl's athleticism and skill have made her a standout player for the Spartans, averaging 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. With a field goal percentage of 30.1% and a free throw percentage of 74.2%, Hadl has proven herself to be a reliable scorer and a formidable presence in the paint. Her contributions to the team have been invaluable, and her commitment to success serves as an inspiration to her teammates.
