Northwest Missouri State assistant steps into lead role for Spartan baseball
June 25, 2025Mike Creason, former Northwest Missouri State University assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator, is headed to Creston to lead the Spartan baseball program at Southwestern Community College. -
Former Spartan named Lou Brock Player of the Year
Former Spartan baseball standout Carlos Gabriel Muniz Garcia (Charlie Muniz, University of the Cumberlands) of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, was recently honored as the 2025 Lou Brock Player of the Year for the second straight season.

Piperno switching athletic fields for 2025-26
June 13, 2025Chris Piperno recently resigned his position as Southwestern Community College head baseball coach, but he’s not going far, just one field to the west, to lead the Southwestern softball program. Not only will Southwestern retain Piperno, but Danny Jensen, who recently stepped down from the softball head coaching position, will assist Piperno in an assistant coaching role.
