The Southwestern baseball team knows how to score runs, putting up more than 30 runs in four games against Allen County Community College over the weekend. Five of the Spartans' eight games have been close, and first-year head coach Jordan Camp is glad to get that first win, "Great to get the first win of the season."

As the Spartans look to make a home stand over the next couple of weeks, the young roster will be tested, "With a young team, it is important to gain confidence and to focus primarily on growth and learning early in the season. It is definitely a step in the right direction."

Some names to pay attention to over the next few weeks on the young roster are: Ernies Lozada, Carlos Muniz, Colby Page, and Kelvin Roman

The Spartans open up home-field play against Des Moines Area Community College at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. See the schedule here: https://www.southwesternspartans.com/sports/bsb/2019-20/schedule
