Southwestern Community College Head Baseball Coach Jordan Camp has announced Mitchell McIntyre of Wichita, KS, as his assistant baseball coach. McIntyre will arrive on campus this week.

McIntyre has a wealth of baseball experience, having pitched at the junior college level in Southwestern’s conference, the NCAA DI level, and at the professional level.

“Mitch is extremely passionate about pitching, which will really benefit our staff as they continue to develop individually and as an entire unit,” Camp stated. “I believe he will bring a high level of energy and focus to the field day-in-and-day-out, continuing to build a strong culture for our program.”

This past summer, McIntyre pitched for the Joliet Slammers, a minor league baseball team in Joliet, Illinois. The previous summer he played for the Milwaukee Brewers’ Minor League Affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona. He played collegiately for five years.

Most of McIntyre’s coaching experience has been one-on-one with players and has included pitching lessons to assist athletes improving their velocity, movement, and command on the mound.

McIntyre has an Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs and has completed coursework at Wichita State University, Indiana State University, and Tabor College.
