SOUTHWESTERN SPARTANS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST ELLSWORTH

Southwestern Spartans Baseball clashed with the Ellsworth Panthers in an intense doubleheader at Ellsworth Community College. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the games were moved to Monday. The Spartans showcased their resilience, splitting the games with a loss in the opener and a thrilling victory in the second matchup.

In the first game, the Spartans faced a tough challenge, falling short against the Ellsworth Panthers with a final score of 5-8. Despite a valiant effort, Southwestern couldn't overcome the early lead established by Ellsworth. Brysen Vernon's powerful bat contributed significantly, including a notable home run, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Game two saw a remarkable turnaround for the Spartans. They battled fiercely to secure a hard-fought victory, winning 10-9 against Ellsworth. Jaxon Brooks and Ryan Canaan delivered standout performances, each launching home runs to propel the Spartans to victory.
