Spartans Lose Three At Northeast

Spartan Baseball faced tough competition against Northeast Community College, losing all three games of the series.

Game 1 ended with a score of 5-1 in favor of Northeast. Despite a strong effort from the Spartans, they struggled to generate runs, ending the game with 6 hits and leaving 5 runners on base. Eli Eldred pitched for Southwestern, facing 24 batters over 5 innings, while Brysen Vernon and Zade Stark led the offense with 2 hits each. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the win.

In Game 2, Northeast dominated with a final score of 10-0. The Spartans faced challenges both defensively and offensively, resulting in 4 hits and 3 errors. Shammy-Thayne Maximiliana and Brysen Vernon contributed with hits, but Southwestern couldn't find their rhythm against Northeast's strong pitching and hitting.

The series concluded with Game 3, ending in a 10-4 loss for the Spartans. Despite a late-game rally, highlighted by Drew Miller's impressive performance with 4 hits, including a double and a triple, Southwestern couldn't overcome Northeast's lead. Zade Stark and Brysen Vernon also contributed offensively, each driving in a run, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.

The Spartans will regroup and focus on areas of improvement as they prepare for future matchups.
