The Southwestern Spartans baseball team faced off against Indian Hills in a scrimmage on Saturday, September 14th, at Pat Daugherty Field in Centerville, IA. The Spartans showcased solid efforts on both sides of the ball in a competitive outing.

Wyatt Throckmorton made a strong impression on the mound, throwing two shutout innings while going 3-for-4 at the plate. Pitchers Dawson Roberts, Ben Amador, and Jose Cherena each contributed a clean inning of work. Offensively, Jackson McDanel powered the lineup with a two-run home run, while Jake Stroh added a solo shot. Brayden Mitchell chipped in with two hits and an RBI, rounding out the Spartans' offensive highlights.

Coach Chris Piperno was pleased with the team's effort, stating, "We did a good job of battling. There was a bunch of guys that handled some form of adversity, and we did a good job of grinding in those situations."
