The Spartan Baseball team showcased their talent in a scrimmage against Ellsworth on September 20. Though no official score was recorded, several key players stood out.
Pitching performances were solid across the board with Eli Eldred, Louie Hartkop, and Collin Nardini each throwing one clean inning with a strikeout apiece. Jose Cherena, Cris Marrero, and Christian Wilkes followed suit, each contributing a clean inning with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Brayden Resch led the charge, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, while Wyatt Throckmorton crushed a two-run home run. Carlos Allen, Jacob Angell, and Jake Stroh each added an RBI, showcasing the depth of the Spartans' lineup.
Coach Chris Piperno highlighted the value of these showcases, saying, "These opportunities are great for our guys to learn how to play in the fall with some extra eyes on them. It gives us a chance to focus on the things that will lead to success."
The Spartans will continue their fall season with a home game against Indian Hills before traveling to Kansas City for another showcase on Friday.
