Spartans fall at Ellsworth

IOWA FALLS - Southwestern's three-game winning streak was snapped Wednesday in a 76-60 loss at Ellsworth Community College.

Southwestern fell to 3-23 overall and 3-8 in ICCAC play with the loss, while Ellsworth improved to 7-18 and 2-8.

The Spartans shot just 35.5 percent from the field and 27.3 percent (9 of 33) from behind the 3-point arc in the loss. Southwestern struggled to keep Ellsworth off the offensive glass, as the Panthers held a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds.

Chad Moran led the Spartans with 14 points and five rebounds, while redshirt freshman Noah Persich netted 11 points with a team-high six rebounds and four assists. Jordan Doss scored 13 points off the bench, sinking four 3-pointers. Ryan Warren added seven points with six assists and four rebounds, while Willshon Warren scored seven points.

Southwestern travels to Iowa Central Community College (10-16, 2-8) Saturday, with game time scheduled for 3 p.m.
