Earlier this season, Tomlinson was named ICCAC and National Player of the Week.

Southwestern Community College sophomore basketball standout Devin Tomlinson has been named Second Team All-Region in ICCAC Division II men's basketball.

The Division II Men's Basketball All-Region teams were released last week, displaying the best performers from the 2022-23 campaign.

Eight players made up the First Team selections -- with eight players on each the Second Team and Honorable Mention.

Of the First Team, the 2022-23 ICCAC Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Year award went to Iowa Lakes' Jeremiah Burke. The sophomore forward flourished this season while helping lead the Lakers to the Region 11 regular season and tournament title.

Burke was top 10 in scoring at 14.8 per game in 16 conference games. He was also the league's top rebounder at 9.0 per game in conference play. He was a few rebounds shy of averaging a double-double for the season. He was an efficient shooter -- connecting on 53 percent of his field goals, 45 percent of threes and 80 percent for his free throws in conference games.

Joining Burke from Iowa Lakes on the First Team was teammate Creighton Morisch. The transfer from Morningside gave the Lakers a premier front court in the country. At 6' 10" the sophomore coupled with Burke to average 13.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game -- totaling 28 points and 17 rebounds per game from the pair. He was top five in blocks and had the highest three point percentage as well, -- being able to stretch the floor, he knocked down 51.5 percent of his conference threes.

Kirkwood placed two players on the First Team after reaching the second straight regional final.

Third year player Noah King was a Second Team All-Region selection in 2020-21. The sophomore sat out all of last season before taking the court again this year. And on the court this year he was the ICCAC's second-leading scorer in conference play at 19.1 points per game. He did damage from three and from the line -- where he was 6th in three pointers made (30) and third in free throws made (72). The Eagles' point guard was also the team's primary distributor -- finishing with 60 assists in 16 games -- third-most.

Justin Recker was the second Eagle to be named to the First Team. Recker posted 13.7 points per game and was one of the best shooters in the conference. In all games this season, he shot 40.6 percent from three -- second-highest overall of any ICCAC Division II player.

This year's First Team list saw one returner from a season ago in NIACC's Myles Tucker. Tucker powered the Trojans again this season to lead the ICCAC in scoring at 21.5 points per game. The sophomore had four games over 30 points this season, going for a season-high 42 at Southwestern on Jan. 28. He led all players in three pointers made in conference play (40) and free throws made (106). Active defensively, he was fifth in steals with 27 in 16 ICCAC contests.

Another explosive guard -- Ellsworth's Shawn Fulcher burst onto the scene this year. Leading the Panthers to their first winning record since 2017-18, Fulcher averaged 18.2 points per game behind Tucker and King. He finished top five in free throws made (56) and assists (54) and was eighth in steals with 24. He joined Tucker as the only players to score 40 points or more in a single game this season.

Angelo Winkel represented DMACC on this year's list. Joining Fulcher as the only freshmen on this year list, Winkel put up 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He shot 55 percent from the field in 32 games played -- and slightly higher in 16 ICCAC games.

Iowa Central sophomore Kevin Taylor capped off the First Team selections in 2022-23. Taylor helped elevate the Tritons from the eighth seed from last year to the fifth seed this year. He averaged 14.1 points and 3.5 assists per game against ICCAC competition. He was top five in free throws made (59), total rebounds (121) and assists (57) this year in conference play.

The 2022-23 ICCAC Division II Coach of the Year award was awarded to Iowa Lakes' Troy Larson in unanimous fashion. Larson led Iowa Lakes to their first regular season title since 2012-13 and their second Region 11 Tournament title since 2020-21. It is his first Coach of the Year award since it was given out by the ICCAC beginning in 2017-18.
