The Southwestern Spartan golf team will open up their spring season with a two-day event at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas. The Ottawa University-hosted tournament will boast a diverse field with teams the Spartans don't normally get to see. The 7,000+ yard course is going to be a great challenge for the Spartans to start their spring.
During the Spring of 2020, the Spartans were just preparing to start their season before the Covid-19 Pandemic cut college athletics at the knees. This will be the first "championship-season" tournament the Spartans have competed in since their third-place finish at the ICCAC Region XI Championships in 2019, which gave Southwestern their first-ever National Championship berth as a team.
The Ottawa University Spring Invite will consist of 10 men's golf teams from across the Midwest: (6 NAIA Schools) #38 Park University, #71 Sterling College, #82 Baker University, #84 Ottawa University - Kansas, #107 York College, Friends University, (5 NJCAA Schools) #11 Iowa Western CC, Barton CC, Fort Scott CC, and Southwestern.
All eight of the Spartans will travel to the event as the Spring weather has not been conducive for qualifying or outdoor practice. The Spartans are led by Sophomores: Harrison Galea, Brock Kyner, and Lachlan Timms. Southwestern will look to their youth to make a major impact in the scoring, from Freshmen: Ethan Brumbaugh, Thomas Esterhuyse, Hayden Green, Ryan Jarvis, and Zayne Osborn.

March 22 - 23 = Jimmie Spring Swing at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, Iowa.
March 26 - 27 = Graceland University Spring Invitational at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Missouri.
April 5 = DMACC Spring Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa. 36-holes
April 9 - 10 = Iowa Central Spring Invitational at Fort Dodge Country Club in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
April 15 = NIACC Spring Invitational at Mason City Country Club in Mason City, Iowa.
May 1 - 2 = ICCAC Regional XI Championship at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside, Iowa.
May 18 - 21 = NJCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana
